Yes, access is 100% free.
It is not possible to access the castle by car. In very specific cases for children or those with reduced mobility, cars may drive up to the castle to drop said visitors off at the site. However, the car must then park outside of the fortress.
The free La Ereta car park is located near the castle, on Mount Benacantil itself.

Yes. Inside the castle, kiosks are located in the Queen’s Bastion and next to the Military Engineers’ Barracks, with a cafe located in the upper section of the Hermitage of Santa Bárbara.
Yes. The lift to access the castle from El Postiguet is in operation.
It costs €2.70 per person, except for pensioners and children under 5.
Yes. There is a shuttle (minibus) with a stop at Plaza del Doctor Gómez Ulloa (opposite the MARQ). This shuttle runs every 20 minutes, approximately, with tickets costing €1.45.
In winter (from 1 October to 31 March) it runs from 10:00 to 20:00, and in summer (1 April to 30 September) it runs from 10:00 to 22:00.
Yes. However, they must be leashed and are not permitted in indoor rooms.
The castle’s opening hours are as follows:
Off-season (from 15 November to 27 February): every day from 10:00 to 18:00.
Mid-season (from 28 February to 16 June, and from 5 September to 14 November): every day from 10:00 to 20:00.
Peak season (from 17 June to 4 September): every day from 10:00 to 23:00.
